Enjoy a few of The Olde Mill Inn Bed & Breakfast tasty recipies in your home.  Easty to make, not a lot of ingredients, but delicious and can be customized to meet your tasts.  Though the Inn is located in eastern Tennessee, the dishes take on the flair of the cook.

Mill Crock Casserole

bake at 425 for approximately 30 minutes

  • 1/2 cup frozen or homemade hash browns, uncooked
  • 1/4 cup ground sausage or 2 slices thick sliced bacon, crumbled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/8 cup milk
  • 1/8 cup broccoli, cut into small pieces
  • 1/3 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp jalapeno or green chili juice
  • salsa
  • sour cream
  • green chilies
  • salt & pepper to taste

  • lightly butter inside of crock
  • place hash browns on bottom
  • add sausage or bacon
  • add broccoli
  • mix milk and eggs and pour into crock
  • top with cheese
  • garnish with salsa, sour, cream, and green chilies.

Poppy Seed Cake

bake at 350 until lightly brown and toothpick clean

  • 1 box yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 1 box butterscotch instant pudding
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 cup cooking sherry, wine or sparkling cider
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbs poppy seeds
  • camel sauce
  • blackberries
  • powdered sugar

  • Mix all on high speed for 8 minutes scraping the bowl occasionally.
  • Pour in to loaf pans, muffin tins, cake pans.....
  • cool on racks
  • top with camel sauce, powdered sugar and berries
